Ingredients
3 lb venison, trimmed
5 slices bacon, chopped
1 small sweet onion, chopped
3 bay leaves
2 tsp. meat tenderizer
Cabela’s Prime Rib Rub
Favorite Barbecue seasoning
1 cup ketchup
½ Tbsp. vinegar
½ Tbsp. mustard
2 tsp. ground mustard
1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
3 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice
¼ cup brown sugar, packed
1 tsp. garlic salt
2 Tbsp. cornstarch
½ cup beef broth
Directions
1. In a skillet, fry bacon and onion until the bacon is slightly crispy, remove the bacon mixture and drain.
2. Mix the Cabela’s prime rib rub, meat tenderizer and your favorite barbecue seasoning together and rub onto your venison.
3. In a bowl mix the ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire, vinegar, lemon juice, brown sugar, and garlic salt together. Pour mixture over the venison and cook on high for 4-6 hours.
4. In a bowl, whisk together the cornstarch and the beef broth and add to the crockpot stirring well. Cover for ten minutes. Give it a good stir and its ready to serve
